Book Summary - One Dark Window by Rachel Gillig
In this episode of Literature on the Rocks…
We’re stepping into the fog-drenched world of One Dark Window by Rachel Gillig—a gothic fantasy full of ancient magic, creepy cards, and one particularly unhelpful voice in Elspeth’s head. The Nightmare speaks exclusively in riddles (because of course he does), and let’s just say we felt some type of way about how long it takes our girl Elspeth to catch on to what’s really going on.
And because we love a theme, we wrote our own riddle to introduce this week’s drink. Meet Nightmare’s Brew: part affogato, part espresso martini, all drama. Honestly, it might be one of the best cocktails we’ve crafted for the show—creamy, bold, and just the right amount of spooky-sweet.
Nightmare’s Brew Cocktail Recipe
Ingredients:
Scoop of vanilla ice cream
1 shot hot espresso
1 oz coffee liqueur
1 oz peanut butter whiskey
Directions:
Scoop ice cream into a glass or bowl, pour the hot espresso over top, add your liqueur and whiskey, and let the nightmare take over.
Join us for an episode full of cryptic whispers, forest vibes, and a cocktail so good it might just be magic. No cards needed.
